How Sefid's strips whiten your teeth in a special way...

How teeth whitening works

We use the active ingredient hydrogen peroxide in a safe concentration to penetrate your tooth's enamel and tackle those stubborn stains.

Since teeth are porous, the hydrogen peroxide is absorbed by the enamel and dentine layers of your teeth, allowing those deeper stains to be reached.
01
Peroxide enters tooth's enamel
It then releases something known as free-radical molecules.
02
Stain molecules are broken down
Free-radicals oxidise and break down stain molecules into smaller ones.
03
Tooth appears whiter
Smaller stain molecules, means they're lighter in colour - so the tooth is whiter.
04
Instantly break out into full speed gallop across the house for no reason flop over, yet relentlessly pursues.

Why does Sefid use Peroxide?

Peroxide can penetrate the layers of your teeth, removing molecules that cause stains. Whilst most ingredients only remove surface stains, it is not a good long-term solution to a brighter smile which is why we use peroxide to target those deeper stains for long-lasting results.

Is peroxide really that
much better?

Is peroxide
really that
much better?

The short answer is yes! Peroxide has been used by dentists for decades and still safely used to this day.

Peroxide is able to oxidise more effectively than other ingredients and therefore can target deeper stains better, as well as giving longer lasting results.

GDC approved concentration
1 Based on a clinical trial suggesting that peroxide at any concentration can achieve the same optimal whitening shade if enough treatments are done.
2 Based on a clinical trial highlighting that with even 9.5% hydrogen peroxide only 12% of participants reported post-treatment sensitivity.
3 Literature review concluding that when manufacturers instructions are followed, whitening products resulted in no enamel erosion.
4 Results from an in-vitro study suggesting that results from whitening systems using light activation lasted 3 weeks, as opposed to 2 weeks without light.
5 Based on a study concluding that there is no evidence of significant health risks associated with peroxide-based whitening products.

Our science backed formula

Whitening Strips

We use a unique blend of both peroxide and  PAP to achieve the best results.

The hydrogen peroxide in your strips release free radicals which target the organic molecules responsible for staining in your teeth.

This reduces discolouration and makes your teeth appear brighter. Similarly, PAP also targets these organic molecules however, it does not release free radicals.

Toothpaste Tabs

Our kits also use the new activation LED technology to whiten your teeth. The LED light activates the whitening agent in your strips and initiates the chemical reaction.

It speeds up the whitening process and improves the overall result.
